Dimension ES-2024 Layer 2 managed Ethernet switch boasts easy management and a comprehensive security mechanism that empowers small- and medium-sized business to take advantage of network connections with ease, safety, and outstanding efficiency. Dimension ES-2024 comes in a 1U height, 19" rack-mount form factor with 24 10/100 RJ-45 Ethernet ports. In addition, it sports two mini-GBIC Ethernet slots as standard SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber-optic interface, as well as two fixed copper-wire RJ-45 Gigabit (1000BaseT RJ-45) Ethernet ports. Network administrators are free to choose mini-GBIC SX, LX, LHX, ZX transceiver, or 100/1000 RJ-45 ports for constructing the corporate backbone as the needs arise. Dimension ES-2024 supports ZyXEL's clustering network management features dubbed "ZyXEL iStacking". With the software-based stacking technology, Dimension ES-2024 is able to detect the fellow iStacking-compatible ZyXEL switches on the same domain automatically, where up to 24 switches can be managed with just one IP address. Through the centralized Web or Telnet administration interface, the IT staff can configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot all the ZyXEL switches on the network remotely, thus significantly reduces the efforts and costs involved for maintenance and support. On the security front, Dimension ES-2024 supports 802.1x user and device authentication for dynamic port-based security to prevent unauthorized clients from gaining access to the network. Moreover, the Dimension ES-2024 can secure the access to a port according to designated MAC address; thereby eliminates associated administrative overhead.
