 Meets expectations, 2008-11-22
I did quiet a bit of research before I bought the ooma phone and was quiet familiar with its features and what others were saying about the phone. It has not dissappointed. The device looks great, the voice quality is nearly equal to a LAN line, I certainly haven't seen any bills, and setup was easy. My biggest reservation for getting the phone was the uncertainly about how long the company would be around. I bought my phone (October 2008) right when I heard that the company had gotten another 16 million in capital venture money so I knew that they would be around long enough for me to make my money back. They also are selling on newegg, bestbuy, etc. I don't think this company is going away any time soon. The economic turndown is probably good for ooma.

Ooma hub work great got here on time. It only took 10 minutes to install! Wow! no phone bill for life this is very good thing! I think everyone who is thinking on buying the ooma hub do so it will be worth you wild. It saved me $717 compared to my cell phone provider. It will save you money to.

Sounds like an interesting gadget. But why would you spend this much for unlimited phone service? I bought a magicjack for $40 for one year, it too offers unlimited calling in the U.S., and only $20 for each additional year. And the sound quality is very good. Think how many years of service you could buy with the money you would otherwise spend on Ooma. And guess what? You can buy magic jack on amazon.com! Just do a search...

This has got to be the BEST PHONE SERVICE EVER!
o Simple and Cheap to use... high quality voice quality.
o Received ooma hub and scout, went online to www.ooma.com/activate and quickly set up account, enter the 'mac address' of your unit, chhose a phone number in your area code. Plug in your hub unit into your cable modem, hub unit lights blink, then when all is set, led light turns blue!
o Plug in your regular phone and you are good to go!
o You can use your existing answering machine by making the 'answer' rings on ooma lounge one ring higher than your present answering machine number of rings.
o My cable modem connection for upload is 250 kbps, and the phone quality is great!

o Connected ooma, and went to cancel my present Time W. VOIP ( SAVED $40 + a month current cost.) ooma works GREAT! Full Featured!
o You will require an ooma Scout unit for any other regular phones you may want in other rooms of your house.
o Hub and Scout Units are very high quality and sturdy.

Works as promised and more, 2008-11-15
I've only had this little gem for 1 day so far, but I'm very pleased with function, features and quality. Setup was easy and it works as advertised.
