Mamma Mia!!!! A toe Tappin Good time, 2008-07-21 I Saw Mamma Mia today and LOVED IT!!!!!!! I saw the stage show as well about 6 yrs ago. The movie just adds another dimensoin to the story. Meryl was excellent so was ammanda. The singing wasnt as bad from the guys end as people have written..This isnt a stage show its a movie and its makes it more real when they dont have the best singing voices. This movie had heart.. I got teared up a couple times especially when meryl belts out "Winner takes it all" WOW>>>>. I was disappointed that the soundtrack is missing a few key numbers from the film so I amwondering if they will release another version with the added tracks and maybe some of the instrumental tracks. I highly recomend this film..It was a toe tapping, dancing in the aisles good time.

Fun movie, great music, 2008-07-21 I must admit to being surprised at the quality of the voices as displayed by the all-star cast--well, for the most part. The female voices were excellent. It didn't appear to be a requirement that the male leads be able to sing (well). Although they were OK. I have a whole new appreciation for the song WINNER TAKES IT ALL after seeing Le Streep's intensely emotional rendition/performance. The major disappointment is that the song WATERLOO was not included on the CD. I saw the the musical on Broadway. Personally, I think it works better on the stage; however, it really comes down to your opinion of ABBA's music. I thought it was all great fun and have listened to the soundtrack a couple of times today.

Mamma Mia Brings Back Vassar with Meryl, 2008-07-20 I first heard Meryl sing in an operetta at Vassar my freshman year during Christmas House Parties weekend. She was playing cards with three other classmates, and they were all wearing period costumes, including sky-high white wigs. In watching "Mamma Mia!", it looks like the Fountain of Youth gushing up from the cracked patio, worked. It was like no time had passed. Didn't she look great? So, I wasn't surprised when Brosnan got down on one knee--who wouldn't? And she can still do the splits from her high school cheerleading days! It was the only film of hers in which I cried--during the mother/daughter scene when the daughter asked Meryl to give her away. I couldn't believe I was crying during a comedic musical! If Meryl reads this, she should know that at the end of the film when she asked the audience if they wanted more, all the guys in the movie theater, shouted, "Yeah!" at the screen. Go, girl!

Just as good as Broadway, 2008-07-20 Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep make this music so enjoyable. They sang their numbers as well as the performers when I saw the Broadway show. Pierce Brosnan tries, and is OK for the most part, especially in "SOS." Just leave out the toast after the wedding! :( If you get the chance to see the movie, DO IT!!!! If you like ABBA or the play, you will not be disappointed.

Great Music, great movie, 2008-07-20 The soundtrack to Momma Mia is very good. Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried have amazing voices. While Peirce Brosnan's voice is not as good he gives it is all (especially in S.O.S) and certainly did not need to be called a water buffalo (someone on a Sunday morning show called him that) Colin Firths voice is not as good, but the soundtrack is very good and the songs are very catchy staying implanted in your mind long after you hear them
