This vendor is terrible and should be eliminated from Amazon's list, 2008-06-19 I ordered a Microsoft Office 2008 from this vendor. He insisted on immediate PayPal payment. Nothing ever came. After about two weeks of waiting, I let him know that I needed the product by a certain date. He responded that it would be sent right away. It never came. I asked him for an update. He responded that it had been returned as undeliverable. Doubtful, since all my other mail was received. I then gave him may address and asked that he resend it. It never came. I asked for an update. No response. After about ten days I asked for another update. No response, again. I asked for the courtesy of a response of some sort. Nothing came back. I filed a claim with Amazon. They investigated and simply refunded my money. Two months later I have no product and I'm starting all over. I recommend that Amazon eliminate this vendor from their list of approved vendors and that anyone contemplating a purchase from him read all the reviews (which I failed to do BEFORE I placed an order with him). Basically, he had the time and use of my money for two months. That is the bottom line. A very sad experience.

A waste of money, 2008-06-16 I'm not even sure I should have given this product a star at all. The programs constantly shut down with some error. I have a new imac I put Office on. Once you open a Word doc for example and then try to make a change or go to file print, the program closes without warning (therefore any changes made to your doc would be lost). I downloaded the "fixes" that exist so far and nothing seems to work. I don't recommend taking a chance on this product until they take the time to make a version that's reliable.
Great software, but a little confusing for Mac converts., 2008-06-16 I've only used Word so far, and it works like a charm. It is fully backward compatible with Windows file formats, and you can set your default save option to .doc format. The only downside is that it has a pretty steep learning curve for those of us who are recent Mac converts. The menus make sense, but they take some getting used to. Overall, though, the suite is a great product and well worth the money. It saves Mac users the hassle of running dual platforms just to use Word.

No way is this as bad as some of the reviews, 2008-06-13 As a PC user for over 25 years I recently switched to a MacBook Pro so I was in the market for new software. I consider myself a power excel user and was very reluctant to purchase Office 2008 for the Mac because of the negative user reviews on this site and others.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to see how smoothly the program runs. I'm not sure if this is due to the recent service patch that was provided, or just the performance of my Mac. The lack of VBA support is a major turnoff but all in all I would recommend this product. Especially for the price of $130.
Microsoft Office Mac: Home & Student Edition, 2008-06-12 Product is what I expected and service from Amazon was excellent -- as I've experienced every time I ordered something from them.
