High school geeks almost party, 2008-05-23 This movie is one of those teen coming of age movies for a triplet of geeks. There is booze and drugs and wild cops who are a dangerous as the bad guys. Somewhat crazy, but no where do we mistake this for a reality. It reminds me of a friend who was really trying to get some in high school and batting zero. I think it was harder 40 years ago, but I doubt people have changed all that much. Some really strange and funny things happy in this movie.

It all happened one night..., 2008-05-21 Superbad is one of those rare movies that manages to be dirty, immature, derivative, silly, and at the same time completely and absolutely wonderful. Sure, it's a formulaic teen sex comedy: The teens in question are a trio of dorky high school seniors, and the sex in question will be available to them (theoretically) if they manage to get their hands on some booze in time for a big party being thrown by one of the cutest girls in school. The formulaicness in question is self-evident. The comedy is even more so. The movie is, to put it lightly, f***in' hilarious. The simplistic plot is a blessing, because it allows for a seemingly endless variety of wonderfully awkward (and charmingly filthy) situations. It's a movie full of iconic moments and riotous one-liners. The characters are just plain smashing: They're always awkward and occasionally obnoxious, but they're nonetheless terminally likeable. Seth (portrayed with brilliant, gut-busting idiocy by Jonah Hill) is the film's loudmouthed, pudgy extrovert, full of hilarious sexual ambitions and creative obscenities. His best buddy, Evan (the hopelessly endearing Michael Cera) is his sweet, shy (but not an ounce less funny) foil. Fogell (introducing the AWESOME Mr. Christopher Mintz-Plasse) simply must be seen to be believed. Other great characters include our heroes' love interests, a few wonderfully moronic fellow partygoers, and a pair of heroically incompetent cops. And the ending is totally sweet. You really oughtta see it.

Very Unsatisfied!!!!!, 2008-05-15 The movie itself is awesome!! But I ordered this on May 2nd, it was shipped May 4th and it is now May 15th and NO movie. I paid for 3-5 day shipping. I actually bought 300 and I Am Legend AFTER I bought this and used the FREE shipping and they got here 4 days after i bought them. Amazon's shipping sucks, bad!!!!! and I can't figure out how to contact them to tell them I want my movie I paid for. Like I said, this movie is good, I am just complaining about the shipping.

Unexpectedly funny with a touching ending, 2008-05-13 As a typical teen movie, I did not expect much beyond pranks and crude humor. But guess what, I ended up watching this movie twice !!! This movie is somewhat in the league of "Airplane" series of movies where you discover something new everytime you watch it.
The movie has a simple theme of two about-to-graduate high-school teens looking for some "action with the other sex" that will prepare them for college. The movie has a good pace that does not make you frantic or bored at the same time. The mix of characters that come along the way (Geeky "McLovin", two dumb cops who are kids at heart) makes this movie a bit complex and well balanced.
And the ending is great. I could probably see this movie again. It is well worth your time and would make a good candidate for your video library.

You Have Neither The Technology Nor Steady Hands..., 2008-05-10 I went into this movie with less than zero expectations. I admit, I typically run screaming from movies of this genre. They are usually stupid to the point of missing comedy entirety (ex: any of the American PIe schlock). Superbad, however, turned out to be surprisingly funny. This film redeemed the "teenage comedy" genre. With a message that reaches beyond the enormity of its sophomoric humor, Superbad will leave the viewer with a good feeling of entertainment. I wish this movie had been marketed differently and perhaps it would have reached an even wider audience. Let us not downplay the rampant profanity and sexual innuendo that pervades this film. But come on, it's about three, not-so-cool, high school seniors. And oh yeah, it's called FICTION for a reason. Watch it for what it is and ENJOY!
