    Very few funny moments, 2008-11-21
The teen comedy has really gone down hill. Since 'Napoleon Dynamite' we've been deluged with very average films that are labeled genius b/c of a few catch phrases or gross images. The whole genera is a ripped off and extremely dumbed down series of 'Rushmore' remakes. 'Superbad' is right there with the rest of them. You laugh a few times, but mostly it's just woooden acting mixed with overemotive acting, mixed with tired nether regions humor. McLovin is not funny. The big fat kid is terrible and certainly not funny. The other kid is great in 'Arrested Dev,' but in movies seems to languish in his own quicksandish personality. I don't know if it's a bit or not, but eventually he'll need to branch out from the same guy we laughed at....how many years ago? Look, I'm as big a fan as anyone of nether regions humor, but it's a craft that seems to have been lost. This movie is generally boring.

Slow, and perhaps a little too dirty, but somehow still redeemable, 2008-10-15
I was skeptical about this movie because I hated Knocked Up and had little faith in Seth Rogen to turn it around for this one. Overall, however, I would give the film 3.5 stars if possible. The story does seem to drag on forever, but there are moments that for some reason I find really funny. Maybe I've just been exposed to too much Chuck Palahniuk. Some of it goes a little too far, though.

The Best Troglodyte Film I've Ever Seen, 2008-10-12
A troglodyte film can be defined as an adolescent parody in which the principals are obsessed with raunchiness, gross-out humor, sexual stereotypes, and libidinous frustration. Given the limitations and triteness of this film genre, made infamous by Porkies and other such trog films, I came into Superbad expecting to be annoyed. However, this is actually the strongest trog film I've ever seen for several reasons and I dare say a comic masterpiece.

One, the disparity between the nerdy juveniles and their aspiration to be hip, "down" dudes is a source of constant hilarious tension. Two, there is a deep heart behind all this film's ribald humor: This film is really about mending a friendship between two high school guys who, growing up together, will part after graduation, one going to a top-tier college, the other going to a more modest state college.

Their adventures, which take on a mythic fable-like quality of the film After Hours, are suffused with hilarious dialogue and like I said a great heart that makes this film a great examination of high school angst. Highly recommended.

    Strike 2, 2008-10-11
So I ordered the Superbad DVD and put it in to watch it and it did not work. The company didnt respond when I ask them about. After I wrote a bad review did I get any response and I was pleased to see that they were sending me another dvd. Unfortunatly they sent me another DVD that did not work. I know it is not my player because it plays other dvd's fine and one of the Superbads I got was a dual disc and the bonus feature dvd played. This company must not check their dvds before they send them out even though they mark them as "like new" because every new dvd i have had PLAYED THE MOVIE! Very unhappy, I do not recommend buying from this company. I understand a slip up, but twice in a row, something must be wrong. Dont waste your money like i did.

    I love you people, 2008-10-06
Everyone thinks they are so insanely clever with their cliche, pun-filled 1 star reviews. A few of most cunning are, "Yes it is Superbad, Superbad movie", "Super bad, unless you're a teenage boy", "Super-Vulgar and Boring", "The movie lives up to it's title!", "Lives down to its title, in a Superbad way!", "super-unwatchable", "This Movie is SO Vile, Studios originally thought of titling it "Supers*itty," "Supersuckage," and even "Superliberalism!!!!!!!".

    Seriously?

Anyways, this movie is not meant to be an exact representation of the male teens current state. Most true comedy is overly exaggerated to extreme degrees. Anyone who cannot understand this basic fundamental of comedy shouldn't watch it.
