 Not the whole Truth, 2008-07-15
I have not even attempted to read this book nor watch this miniseries. John Adams had my ancestor Matthew Lyon put in jail under the Alien and Sedition Act that the Adams administration put into place. He was paranoid and prejudice. My ancestor was in jail for one year while his son James Lyon continued to report and almost ended up in jail as well. The Freedom of Press and Speech was violated by this President and I have no respect for him. Thomas Jefferson became President because Matthew Lyon got out of jail and went right to his seat and cast the deciding vote for Thomas Jefferson. Then in turn,Jefferson overturned the unconstitutional Act of John Adams. Still today these constitutional rights are being challenged today and that is why many people of authority are bringing up my ancestor and what John Adams did to him. However, the government did get the last word, they bankrupt Matthew Lyon during the war of 1812. To be bold and forthright is very hard to do with all the interests that want to blindfold you and tape your mouth.

 Great Series - Great History - Great Man, 2008-07-15
Simply put if you are a history buff, especially an American Revolution history buff, this is a MUST SEE!
The acting is great, the story is great, the production quality is great, etc, etc, etc. GET IT! WATCH IT! LOVE IT!

I really did enjoy viewing John Adams. I also have been reading the book by David McCullough and the movie is accurate from that point of view. The movie brings out just how important John Adams was to the formation of this United States from its inception.
John Adams is worth watching, 2008-07-14
We thoroughly enjoyed watching all seven episodes twice over a two week period, and thought the series portrayed accurately a true American Hero.

HBO's John Adams is a good miniseries. I love to view programs about the revolutionary period/early U.S. Government period. Very enjoyable program!
