Works as advertised / expected from Acronis, 2008-08-08
This was purchased to upgrade from Acronis True Image 9. It works flawlessly with Windows Vista.

The automated, scheduled backup feature is fast and reliable. This product is highly recommended for safe, secure and reliable backups.

    Met all my expectations, 2008-08-08
The installation went well (Windows VISTA). Running the initial full backup while scheduling incremental backups was very straight forward. I'll probably get another copy and external drive for my wife's computer.

    Images Linux without hassles, 2008-08-06
This product will image and restore a Linux (Ubuntu in my case) system without hassles. The restore works even if the target drive is smaller than the original. I restored a 160 GB image to an 80 GB drive without problem. I could not get Symantec Ghost images to boot when restored. An add on for Bart PE is included on the CD.

The instructions for using the Bart PE add on are confusing. They say that the custom install will set up the files. I did not see that option under custom setup. I did run the BartPE setup program from the CD and the files were copied to my hard drive. The second BartPE folder name has to be changed to Acronis and that folder and its subfolder (Files) are copied to the pebuilder/addons section. The instructions are online. The program is located under System/Storage inside BartPE.

I tried various programs to image Linux and the best free one I found was Clonezilla. The only negative it has (at this moment) is that you cannot restore to a smaller hard drive. The work around is to shrink the partition on the source drive before making the image (a hassle and a little dangerous). So I bought Acronis and it worked.

    Easy to Use, 2008-08-05
This product worked perfectly with no training, just follow the easy to understand dialogs and you have a perfect image backup of your system, not just the data.

    Acronis True Image, 2008-08-05
I used this product to clone a laptop drive with Windows Xp, Vista and Ubuntu 8.04 in a triple boot setup. The product worked flawlessly, the Ubuntu is installed within the Vista install using the new Wubi installer included in the latest version of Linux. All three OS's boot perfectly well and work exactly as it did prior to cloning the drive.
I haven't used Acronis to do periodic backups yet but will be trying that in the future.
I also used Acronis to clone my sons XP machine's hard drive and it again worked flawlessly. I use the built in Vista backup to perform periodic backups and it also works quite well so if you have Vista it may not be necessary to purchase third party software to make backups.
Overall I consider the price of Acronis True Image to be a bargain at Amazons 29.99 rate, highly recommended.
