    Excellent Value, 2008-08-28
The quality and ease of use that you get with this product makes it a no-brainer. It also comes with intuitive text recognition software, which is an incredible added value and has been very useful. The resolution and color depth is fantastic, and it integrates seamlessly with Photoshop CS3. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

This is actually my second scanner in this series, I purchased an older model in 2003 and it still works like the day I bought it. I'm expecting the same durability from this model, but can't attest to that yet!

Also, mac users-- this scanner WILL work with your mac, whether you have photoshop or not! I'm still on Tiger and it works fine, my coworker (whom I share the scanner with) is on Leopard, and it works fine on hers as well.

Works fine with my Mac Book Pro. I like the email button that attaches it automatically... if you have started an email in entourage and then decide to scan something to attach, this email button automatically attaches the .pdf to the open email. Slick. Powered through USB cable is very nice too.

Good scanner after setup problems, 2008-08-06
I like this scanner but had problems setting it up with Windows Vista. The box indicates that only one of the bundled software programs was Vista compatible, but the box is probably out of date, because I am now running all of the bundled software. It is very important that you 1) install the software 1st, 2) restart your computer, 3) plug the scanner in, 4) start the software. I tried starting the software without plugging the scanner first, and it gave an error message. I thought this was a Vista compatibility issue, but in fact I just didnt get the sequence of steps in the right order. There is no explanation of what the different programs are for, so it is confusing because there is a lot of overlap. A lot of trial and error involved. The main program Navigator EX from Canon is the best of the bunch. I love that I can scan 4 photos (4x6) simultaneously and the software automatically crops and rotates them and saves them individually, then asks you if you want to scan more. It makes scanning a collection of film photos very easy. The quality seems good, though any black areas of the photos show a LOT of dust. The one touch feature does not make things any easier - you should just scan from the main window.

Does what a good scanner is supposed to do, 2008-07-30
The software was easy to install, the scanner works very simply and produces extremely clear copies Just very good need I say more

    EASY!, 2008-07-28
I really spent some time weighing pros and cons of various scanners before taking the plunge. I needed something that would handle documents, scan and print docs (in liew of a copier and fax machine), and this has worked out beautifully. Easy to set up, and I'm sure at some point I'll explore all the bells and whistles, but I was able to immediately scan and e-mail some documentation that I needed to get to a third party....no sweat! Love that it is small and that I don't need an extra power cord. I can store the unit on a shelf and then plug in when and where I need to. Everything I expected to get and more. It works!
