 I love this program!, 2007-12-12
I couldn't be happier with Photoshop Elements 6. It is turning out to be exactly what I needed. If you are looking for a program that can do just about everything Photoshop can do but don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on it, then this is the software for you. I haven't found anything that I can't do in Elements that you can do in Photoshop. I recommend this software to anyone wanting to design using photographs. The program is so user friendly and there are so many forums online that help you when you need it! A great buy at Amazon.com's price!!!

 Elements 6 is a not an upgrade, 2007-12-11
While Elements 6 has some new features, if one has Elements 5 do not waste your money on this version. The color scheme of the program makes it almost impossible to use, very dark gray with black lettering. Come on Adobe, even a novice designer would not use this combination. If the user has any added layer styles or actions it is very very time consuming to get them into PSE 6. If you are now using PSE 4 try to get a hold of PSE 5 and if you are using PSE 5 just stay there - or maybe go to Paint Shop ProX2

I am very pleased witht his item. It is very user friendly and much simpler than other photographic software. I am still learning but overall, I am very pleased.

 Adobe ignores you after the sale, 2007-12-06
If you have software issues forget about any help. Customer service is a joke. They pick up on the first ring if they think you are buying something, otherwise you are on permanent hold to India.
Just like with Photoshop Elements 4.0, don't be surprised when your software suddenly stops functioning because of the built-in expiration date. Just buy their newest version is the answer.
If you hate arrogant monopolies, buy instead uLead Photoimpact 12. It's cheaper and isn't Adobe.

A disaster with Windows Vista, 2007-12-05
I used Photoshop Elements 4 for several years and was quite happy with it.
But version 6 is close to unusable. File loading is extremely slow with Vista, pasting images from the clipboard (such as screen snapshots) takes over 5 seconds (and occasionally crashes), the cursor keys fail to nudge layers as they are supposed to, and so on.
Be warned--Photoshop Elements 6 crashes frequently. If you don't save changes constantly, you will lose work.
The provided help is extremely limited and of little use.
If you are using an earlier version of PS Elements, version 6 will disappoint.
