    LONG TIME PANDA USER, 2007-12-17
I have been using Panda Internet Security for 4 years. Never had a problem and as of this date I've never had a virus and my PC is clean of spyware, malware and such. It runs fast and efficient. I just ordered 2008, which will put me into my 5th year of using this product. I love it!

I love that it takes care of things instead of putting everything in quarantine and I have to figure out what to do with it. Anything that is found gets a backup file created before repairs take place. It updates at least once per day, automatically. Settings are easy to use and understand. I have plenty of options on how I want Panda to protect my system and how much I want it to "talk" to me. When spyware or viruses are found I get a pop up near my monitor clock telling me so. It does periodic Self Diagnosis and informs me of the results. If anything nasty is found, Panda gives me a pop up near the clock telling me where to go or what to do.

I'm working on Windows XP SP2 and Panda is completely compatible with it. However, on store bought computers where there is pre-installed Anti-Virus programs installed at the factory, you will find Panda can get picky about having them in there. Per their customer service, it is preferred to have those previously installed A/V programs removed from your PC. Sometimes they can interfer with Panda functioning correctly.

I know many people do their A/V renewals on-line but I prefer buying the CD-Rom in stores and installing it that way. By doing so, if there is a problem I simply uninstall and reinstall. Renewing on-line can sometimes be a problem when you have to reinstall that same A/V you paid for. This experience came from a previous A/V program I had. I ended up having to pay for it twice! Having the CD handy gives me peace of mind knowing that no matter what problems I may have, I can always uninstall and reinstall and not have to worry about proving I paid for it! I think everyone has run into that problem at one time or another.

I recommend Panda Internet Security Suites. I won't use anything else. I just had a custom PC made to suit my needs and the only anti-virus I would even consider putting in here was Panda.

Not worth your effort, spare yourself!, 2007-12-15
I tried Panda since I am sick of Symantec's and McAfee's pop-up self promotion garbage. I tired also of the hassles of having to contact support if I have to make a significant hardware change in which case Symantec assumes you're a software pirate and disables your protection. However, I suspect that the reviewer who wrote that Panda is "the best [he's] ever used", must have a conflict of interest, or has never used one of the mainstream products.

In a nutshell, this software is junk. I got numerous application errors (over two dozen on one of my machines and several on the other) in the two days since I installed it. I had to get a patch just to get to my router's configuration web page, but the first tech told me that I had a corrupt Winsock (on all three machines all at the same time???)! I can't get to a tech journal's website (but machines not running Panda on my network can). Today I got home and found that my machine was very sluggish, why? One of Panda's processes was hogging 50% of the CPU on my Core 2 Duo (pretty fast) machine. So I tried to restart the machine, and was told that Centinel.vxd is not responding.

I am now thinking that having Panda is almost as bad as being infected with a virus or some sort of malware. I don't know why this company is still in business, if this is how they generate revenue. Or are there that many people like me who are just so fed up with abuse from Symantec and McAfee that they will settle for anything else?

I hate to say it, really HATE to say it, but at least Symantec's software works, even though it is a burdensome hassle to deal with their nonsense. And at least they have real tech support. Panda's is lackluster (and was unusually difficult to find). It consists of Email, and don't expect a useful answer on the first go-round for an issue. It takes 48-72 hours for a response, so if you do the math, your problem could easily take a week to get resolved- if you ever get to a tech support person who knows what they're doing.

I hope you get the picture. If not, kindly post your review here after you suffer the ignominies that will be thrust upon you!

I wasn't able to post this with less than one star due to the website limintation. So, consider me a nice guy!

THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED!, 2007-12-13
I have used Norton, and several other AntiVirus programs over the years, and this one beat ALL OF THEM HANDS DOWN! Somebody was trying to intercept a communication that I was sending containing a customer credit card number, and I got an IMMEDIATE alert as to what the intrusion was, WHERE IT WAS coming from, and that it was blocked! I have not seen Norton do that! AND< this program is less expensive, and has the same support services as the other better-known software programs! If you are asking me, BUY IT!!!

what? Aside from the cutzie lil bear icon??, 2007-12-10
It is uncertain what this software is doing. 'corse I'm so used to Kaspersky's sometimes over-bearing alarm system(mostly false). Aside from the ease of installation, it is not intrusive. What it is though is annoyingly slow. As in, the one-two-three-FAIL dance online. I go to a webpage, then a second then a third then "failure to load". This is a pattern with Panda and is totally unacceptable! Also there is a "Feature" called "Vunrability check" but it is a false alarm. It pointed me to a site that pointed me to MS website and the downloads were repeats of the previous ones I did(and did not solve the vunrability). SO I conclude it is either not serious, or worse still, Panda is leading me in circles to the wrong websites! Do not be taken by the cute little patch-eyed chubby cheeked bear in the right hand corner of your screen nor the family oriented splash screen, this is not freindly with children and Kaspersky's Parental control is much more protective and safe! If you have children, you NEED to aquire computer skills! IT is a MUST! so go to vo-tech because if you are obliviois, it is the kiddos who pay!

Simple and to the point protection, 2007-12-07
I have used many products out on the market as a avid computer user, and professional technician and I have not found one out there that could match the power and the effectiveness of this product. The simple user interface and the ease of use throughout the software made me a fan of the Panda Software products. This one here that I am talking about has just about everything that you would need for protection from today's threats and has not let me down once. I have installed this on many of my family members computers who are a bit computer challenged and they have managed to keep up and protect their computers while using this with no problems. All the settings in the software are a few clicks away and knowing that you are protected is the all systems go approach of showing you exactly what is up and running and in full protection.
