Excellent product, BUT..., 2008-04-12 I used to have Norton. As the years went on, Norton turned into second rate anti-virus protection. So I decided to try Kaspersky. I'm very happy with it. I run Windows XP with 1GB of memory on an HP and have had zero issues - once I got it installed properly.
First, you should absolutely positively run the Kaspersky GSI Tool BEFORE you install their software. It will tell you what software you have on your machine that may interfere with Kaspersky. The install instructions in the box do not tell you this. I learned the hard way.
Second, check the Kaspersky support forums at forum.kaspersky.com if you have any questions BEFORE you install the software. There's lots of information in the forums that I found useful - such as interactions between the free Comodo firewall and Kaspersky. However, like all support forums, double check all answers you are provided. (They told me that my printer driver was malware and that I should uninstall it. Luckily, I knew better.)

FIRST IMPRESSION: READ OTHER REVIEWS BEFORE YOU MAKE THE PURCHASE (I SHOULD HAVE), 2008-03-27 This was my first [and last] experience with Kaspersky Anti-Virus. My last AVP was the Shield which was very easy and reliable as was McKafee and others over the past several years. Kapersky is the only software program that is an absolute Show Stopper when installed on my machine. The Upload goes pretty smooth, that is until you are connected to the Internet. My (supplied)Passowrds were totally usless even after several tries. My PC slowed to an absolute stop while using the Trial Version. I emailed a "Case File" but have not heard anything in reply and have been unable to reach a Human over the Land-Line. I'm out 39 bucks but way better for the experience.

Kaspersky 7.0 XP user, 2008-03-26 I have used avs throught all the years and have also used defender pro last year. But now that avs is combining spyware with antivirus. I see prices for defenderpro/kaspersky/webroot. these are all at 40.00-50.00. I really enjoy Kaspersky. Buy it and try it.

The best anti-virus I've ever used!, 2008-03-25 I've had this for a month and it's been smoothe sailing so far. I've previously used Norton and McAfee, and Kaspersky is the only one that doesn't slow down my computer. Hard to say how well it deals with viruses and trojans, as I haven't had any yet.

Fabulous, 2008-03-22 Switched from Norton because that program bogged down my computer terribly. Kaspersky works great in the background, is easy to use, and finds all the bugs.
