    Auto-Renewing Trap, 2008-03-09
This product will set you up for auto-renewing. They make it very difficult to stop, giving you phone numbers that charge per call, etc, etc. This is a wast of time and money. Will never purchase from this company again. Buyer beware.

    Doesn't completely protect you, 2008-03-04
Hi- i purchased this just over a week ago and yesterday was infected with a virus MonaRonaDona for which Norton's scan did not catch or remove? I also contacted their support who only tried to sell me additional assistance, appears the one year subscription doesn't cover everything? I do not recommend this product and I am currently trying to find out what to buy to replace this?

No good reason to purchase it., 2008-02-24
First, this is only virus protection; it will not protect against spyware. You need Norton Internet Security Suite or 360 if you really want to use Noton products for fullprotection (And I think poorly of them). Granted you can use this product and purchase spyware protection such as Webroot or Ad-Aware pro (the free version of Ad-Aware requires you to download updates and start the scan yourself). But if you really want to mix packages there better virus protection packages out there.

I define "better virus protection" as either:
    1) As good of protection but much cheaper.
    2) Better protection at a somewhat lower price.
    3) More likely to work on your computer (notice that 100% of security software gives some computers problems).

Since Norton is as expensive as it gets and is the least like to work (in my opinion from using it on our systems at work and home use), the only reason to purchase it is that it is not the absolute worst out there. That is not a good reason.

Do not buy unless you want to slow down your computer!, 2008-02-20
I switched from McAffee antivirus protection to Norton this year and found out I don't like either option. The Norton 2008 requires so much memory to run that it will slow down your computer dramatically. It will run slower online and offline. It stops viruses as well as I expected, but it makes everything slow and annoying. Even though I paid for a year of protection, I uninstalled it and bought a different program. Trend Micro hasn't slowed our computer down at all.

    The absolute worst, 2008-02-14
I purchased AntiVirus 2008 because my current system is running a Norton Product, which seems to be a big problem switching from one vendor to another as they seem to leave remnants of the old software behind that can create conflicts. Immediately I was no longer able to access the internet or my email. My ISP verified that the firewall was blocking all access to the internet and gave me Symantec's 800 number. The phone system is designed to deny any caller from speaking to an actual person. They repeatedly asked me to go to their website to figure why their product had caused so many problems, which was obviously impossible. Once I figured out to bypass this, I was told that I could not receive any type of assistance without paying for support (although I had just paid for their product which caused the need for this support). I was told phone support would cost $9.95 which they insisted that I supply a credit card number for to go any farther. Once I paid up, they did have a technician remotely access my system and delete all remnants of this product and install a fix. This took approximately 2 hours.

I just checked my credit card balance and the technician charged me $69.95 to repair their flawed $40.00 program.

    Steer clear is my advice!
