Cheap Garbage - already failed., 2008-09-03 Kingston DataTraveler 2GB has failed in less than 2 weeks of intermittent use.
I have attempted to attach the device to several different Windows based computers and get the same error message each time: "USB Device Not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned...."
Other USB devices work without error.
I have tried various command prompt and registry fixes, to no avail.
Bottom line really is that this device malfunctioned in a very short period of time. I had acquired this through the Pepsi Points promotion for free and still feel cheated.

Amazing!, 2008-08-30 It worked great transferring files from an XP desktop to my new Vista laptop, transfered files fast, terrific product so far.
KINGSTON DOES IT AGAIN, 2008-08-26 I LOVE THIS KINGSTON DATA TRAVELER. IT WORKS GREAT AT KEEPING DATA I WORK ON AS I TRAVEL, AND AS I WRITE MY BOOKS. I DON'T LOSE DATA IF I SHOULD HAPPEN TO HIT A KEY OR A "MISPLACED" BUTTON NOW AND THEN AS I WRITE. IT IS TRULY A "LIFESAVER". I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT IT AND THE SMALLER VERSION TOO.
Good value, 2008-08-25 So far, this USB memory stick seems robust and it works in a wide variety of machines without having to install new drivers. It's very nice that the cap fits on the other end of the drive, like a pen cap, so I'm less likely to walk off without it. However, I wish the loop at the end were slightly larger. It's barely large enough to jam on a standard key chain loop, and once on it's so tight that the memory stick won't slide around the ring with the rest of my keys. I gave up carrying it on my key chain for this reason; now it lives in the bottom of my purse.
No problems at all, fast and easy storage., 2008-08-17 Not sure what else to say other than the Kingston Data Traveler 2 GB USB Drive (DTI/2GB) has been great for me for quick backups, moving files, and keeping small programs on the go with me. I've had mine 6 months and it's fast & smooth. Just plug it in and you've got a new drive to copy files to and take them on the go. Lightweight, small, and inexpensive. Most of all, mine has been reliable and that's what's important.
