    Software disappears..., 2008-10-03
I bought this modem so that I could be alerted when I got a phone call. The software doesn't stay on my computer for more than a few minutes, then it disappears. I am not very adept at installing software so it could be something I am doing or not doing. Modem works fine in every other respect. In fact it is on my puter now!

    dialup card, 2008-05-29
This dialup pci card installed easily & has not given me any trouble. it was economically priced & that was what I was looking for.

    DOA Modem, 2008-04-19
The modem never worked but was too cheap to return. It installed okay but would never actually dial out. I found another modem in an old PC in the garage and it worked just fine.

Read this if Windows doesn't find your modem, 2008-02-02
I won't pretend to review the functionality of this device, which others have done just fine. But I will comment on a problem I and others have had and how it was fixed. I built (January 2008) a new XP SP2 system using an Intel DG965WH motherboard. I installed the drivers as directed, powered down, inserted the modem and launched XP. The modem was not recognized and did not show up in Device Mgr or using MSINFO32 on the command line. All Trendnet has on their vestigial website is to try swapping PCI slots. I did this with no luck. On a tech web site I saw the suggestion to use Control Panel / Add Hardware. When I used this function and asked XP to let me select the modem from a list, the 'Agere PCI Soft Modem' was in the list, as the drivers had apparently successfully installed, so I chose it. I told XP to look for the drivers (even tho' they were already installed) on the CD under the Windows 2000 and XP folder, and the install succeeded. Perhaps this will work for you if your computer does not find this modem. My only use for this modem is to do faxing, which is why I can't comment on the other functions.

Perfect MODEM for my needs, 2008-01-18
I purchased this MODEM to replace the one that came with my computer a few years ago. My best connection speed with the old MODEM was 28.8 Kbps. After installing the new one my best and most frequent connection speed is 36.0 Kbps. This has been a great improvement in page loads.

Be sure to FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY and you should have no problems with this MODEM. Read the instructions BEFORE you do ANYTHING and your installation should be every bit as fast and easy as was mine.
