Photo support is horrible, 2006-03-30 I gave this a 2nd star for a support call ms provided. If you do have a frontpage server, and have it set "on", it had some advantages over ftp.
I bought it for use on our family website which is mainly pictures. I've used 6-8 programs for creating galleries over the years. I think a perl script using Linux' mogrify worked best. This works worst! The free ones w/ the digital cameras beat it. Frontpage is missing the most fundamental piece to view photos- A next/previous button. You can choose from several thumbnail displays including a cool mosaic/colage type thing. Once you expand it, you must remember the shot you were on, back up, and then click on the next one! Unbelievable.
I know what I need for handling photos efficiently. Flicr has it- cross-tab indexing of the same photo. I think picassa is close and getting closer. This wasn't worth the cost of Picassa- FREE.

pretty powerful, 2006-03-23 Given my limited knowledge of computer science and programming i felt FrontPage was a a really big help. I was able to get a website up and running in about 2 weeks which i think is pretty good all things considering. I didn't realize though that Frontpage isn't the cureall for making a website really. Primarily only for WEB DESIGN i.e. if you want to make a website with E-commerce and query searches of an inventory database and the like, you're gonna need to bring in the professional programmers in any event to program in ASP or PHP. But as far as Web Design goes Frontpage can take a novice a long way.

worth the investment, 2006-03-09 A great product. Make sure you get a separate instruction manual. The one that is included is not enough. Make sure you do the tutorial before you start your own website. This was a relatively easy program to follow and allowed my, a person that is not real computer savvy, to create a wonderful and usable website. The pictures help greatly in the understanding of the program. Also, items to be cautious of, or areas of help are pointed out in the margins. I read the manual thorougly before starting.

Excellent software!, 2006-01-31 I bought MS FrontPage 2003 about a month ago, to create a website for a friend starting his own company. I have never used any kind of software to create a website before. When I got FrontPage, it was easy to install onto the computer, and was pretty easy to use. It has a help section where you can ask any kind of question, if you're stuck about a particular feature, or how to insert something onto a web page.
FrontPage automatically configures files and optional page set-ups if you want to use them, and also gives you the option to put hyperlinks in to connect your buttons to the pages.
When I first started creating the website I needed to make, I knew NOTHING about it. I was able to create a 13-page website, with banners, interactive buttons, text, hyperlinks, a contact us form, and many other features, all within 3 weeks' time. I did not even KNOW what a hyperlink was until I started working with this software.
FrontPage has some of the same features as MS Word, so it might be somewhat familiar to you if you want to create a website on your own. If I can go from knowing nothing about website creation to being able to create a professional looking website in about 3 weeks, you can too!
