Useful Program, but with Pro's and Con's, 2004-07-18
** Opinion: Like everyone is saying, MapSend Streets "is" inaccurate from time to time. My only real complaint about the program is that it tends to show the wrong street names (which is really, really not too good). But at least it 'does' show the correct street layout for the most part. It 'can' be off by quite a few feet (some say up to 100 feet) which is a bummer, but if you can't navigate well enough with it being off a few feet then you need to hang it up and hirer a chauffeur. =P

** User-interface: The user-interface is pretty simple -- too simple for my taste (in other-words it's outdated, but at least it works). The address search is ridiculous, in fact the whole search function itself has much to be desired of. But once you get the hang of how it works, you'll be able to navigate (search) around and find (pretty much) what you're looking for... most of the time. I really like how you can manage all of your waypoints/routes with this program, but even the a simple freeware program can do that. Uploading/downloading to the GPS is a breeze. Even on Windows 98, there wasn't ANY trouble getting the program to locate the GPS.
** Hint: If you set the baud rate to 19200 on the GPS 'AND' MapSend Streets, the uploads/downloads are MUCH faster.
** Over-All Opinion: This is a program that I wouldn't want to do without... as long as there wasn't anything better.
** Final Thought: MapSend Streets has a lot of useful information, but the inaccuracy and lack of features is a large blow against the usability of this program.

    Limited Region Availability, 2003-08-16
The problem with this product is you are limited to loading four 16MB reqions totaling 64 MB on the SD card. You can not load one 64 MB region. If you travel a large portion of the country or go on a long rad trip, you have to break it up into sections. It is a shame that Magellan has limited the expandability of their software when large SD cards are available. This has kept me from updating my existing handheld GPS. These devices are not truely infinitely expandable as advertised.

Good product at reasonable price, 2003-04-30
I am puzzled about the negative reviews concerning this product. I find this software very useful and relatively accurate. The other option is a [price] built in color gps and maps in your car. Compare the prices and value added and you'll be very satisfied with this product.
Living in the Chicago area, I get lost a lot. However, thanks to my Magellan gps and Mapsend Streets, I never found myself wondering around aimlessly. It may have even saved me from some serious harm a time or two.

Good stuff. Buy it with confidence!

Magellan Mapsend Streets CD For Map 330, 2002-12-23
I am very pleased with MapSend Streets. It displays my location accurately as I navigate the streets of my home town. I can even type in an address and it will know the exact location just by street and address number. Of course there are bound to be a few errors in any large data base of streets, but I have not found any in my area as yet. It doesn't have restaurants or other destinations included, they are in the ... "Streets and Destinations" edition.

GPS is Great - Software [is bad], 2002-12-09
I recently acquired the Magellan Meridian Platinum GPS and it works great. The MapSend software is terribly flawed and is worthless, in my opinion. For instance:

Near my west coast home they show a Wendy's Restaurant situated in a wetland.

In the community where I grew up in New Jersey, the software invents street arrangements where none exists. Also, street alignments will vary greatly from reality.

The software reminds me of Japanese English, in that, it appears that someone tried to "translate" the real streets from another language.

    DON'T BUY IT!...
