Very fun, but can get a little easy, 2005-09-10 I've had this game for about a month now, and I love it! I play it just about every day! The graphics are great, but unless you have the right hardware, or a newer computer, you won't get as good of graphics, like reflective water. I highly recomend that you buy this game. If you already have this game, or are soon to, I would like you to answer a question for me. I have heard that one of the features in the game is that there is a dino vet you can go to and brew chemicals to control the dinos to be hungry, sleep, angry, ect. But I don't have it on my game! It's driving me crazy! I need to know where to find it on my game, or if it realy exsists! Please email me at: [...]. So if that is on your game, please tell me where I can find it on mine.

I'm so glad I didn't buy this game, 2005-04-25 I was going to buy this game after seeing some awesome screenshots and reading UI's extended description of the game, but as a last-minute decision I decided to download and play the demo for it first. I am very glad I did. There is one major flaw with this game that I simply could not deal with:
You cannot zoom out far enough!
There is a zoom control that can take you up close to view areas of your park in close detail or it can take you high above your park to view things from a distance. The problem is that it doesn't take you high enough. This forces you to hover a small distance above the trees, giving you the ability to see only a small portion of your park at a time. I don't know how the designers/testers failed to recognize this as a major flaw.
Other things I noticed (while trying to live with the zoom) were unnatural feeling controls (controls that take getting used to and really don't seem very logical) and a mouse cursor that behaves strangely .. it moves slightly out of sink with your hand movement or something (I couldn't quite put my finger on it).
So, in conclusion, this game is not worth buying .. if someone gives you the game for free, try to get used to it's flaws and have fun with some of the pretty cool stuff it has to offer.

More fun than a barrel of dinosaurs, 2005-04-10 To restate what has been previously said ... this game is awesome! Personally, I find it more enjoyable than other sim games out there, but then again, I'm a big fan of dinosaurs and the Jurassic Park series.
For those that play RollerCoaster Tycoon, you will enjoy the building-your-own-theme-park concept. While the park is more attraction that rides, there's still plenty of activity to keep you busy. The idea of being able to create live exhibits that you can customize is more exciting than building a roller coaster. It's like comparing Sea World to parks with animatronics. Live animals are much more fun than mechanequins (my own word for mechanical-mannequins).
My favorite part is seeing many different species of dinosaurs and learning their history as you place them in different paddocks. Some visitors get excited about "authenticity" - that is keeping dinosaurs together that belong in their time period or location where they were found. Other visitors enjoy seeing raw animal carnage while others get excited about the calm friendly dinosaurs playing and interacting with each other. Providing an even mix in your park is the key to success. Hearing the announcer telling the park guests about new dinosaur arrivals seems so real; I get excited to see my newest exhibit. The sound effects and the wonderful John Williams music that underscores the game play often make you feel like you are watching a movie that you are directing yourself (watch out Mr. Spielberg).
For PC players, learning how to edit the INI file is cheating but provides opportunities to build your park with more thought and planning than just hoping to avoid bankruptcy ... or worse. While generally not a violent game, it is sometimes fun to allow a T-Rex to escape and munch on a guest, but with careful planning, your design can be safer than ... Jurassic Park.

Welcome To Jurassic Park!!!!!, 2005-02-25 One day I was flipping around on the internet and found a game called Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. I played the demo and I was hooked! I bothered my parents for a month and I got the game. On with the review. There are only 4 modes of gameplay in this game. The first is Operation Genesis, the fun! You start out with one digsite and unlock more as you go along. I thought it was extreamly fun and I have 10 5 star parks. The next is Missions. There are 10 super challenging ones. They are hard and itm took me 2 months to beat them all. My favorite one is Danger Club Safari because you have to take pictures of rampaging dinos without getting eaten. Stick withe the raptors and go on mountains to take pictures of the big ones. You can also do Excersises. They are like scenarios in Zoo Tycoon. Jurassic Classic is the best because they give you the park from the movies and you have to manage it. The last is Site B. A private island where dinosaurs you pick roam free. I saw wich herbivores would last the longest on an island with huge bloodthirsty carnivores. The graphics are incredible!! I thought they were real dinos and the fights and hunting of the carnivores was a visual treat. The audio was what the movies sounded like. Listen to these words and obey them: BUY! THE! GAME! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not that fantastic, 2005-01-30 2 1/2 stars... I love Jurassic Park and was excited about playing a video game based on it that wasn't a shoot 'em up. But I was dissapointed and bored by this overall. Too much violence is necessary (they really should have made a play-mode for those of us who don't like slaughtering dinosaurs), you're very limited in the things you get to do in the game, you have to focus too much on selling food and appeasing your annoying tourists, you have to treat the dinosaurs like commodities, it doesn't really go anywhere, it gets boring, it loses its charm.
