 only half of the magazine, 2002-09-20
What? What happens to the discs? Fifteen bucks without the disc, thirty bucks with the disc, you are offering only half of a magazine.

In the two issues I've received thus far, I've come across many helpful hints in optimizing my computers, as well as reviews of equipment. I like this magazine better than other ones I've read and I highly recommend it.

Best Mac Magazine Bar None, 2002-07-07
If you're looking for a macintosh magazine and can't afford subscribing to Macworld, MacDesign, and MacAddict, get MacAddict. Not only has it been redesigned from the ground up, but they got rid of their insipidly stupid mascot Max in the review section. No longer are we faced with the blech, freakin' awesome, etc... of this tiresome cartoon character. But more than that are its features, reviews (that everyone can understand), games sections, get info, and more. It's irreverant, fun, sometimes a little too juvenile, but you get the impression that the people who run this magazine LOVE using macs. I never got that impression from the other mac magazines (except maybe MacDesign) or from any PC magazine on the market. With that said, it also comes with a monthly CD (which I believe is about $1 extra) just brimming with demos, freeware, shareware, movie clips, and more. It's a great magazine and you won't be disappointed. You'll look forward to each and every issue and read it from cover to cover (too bad it's not twice a month!).

 No CD = No Subscription, 2002-05-16
The one star is for this deal, not for the magazine: To offer MacAddict without the CD is like offering the New Yorker without the cartoons--it's an integral component. One of the main reasons to buy the magazine is to get the demos, updates, freeware, shareware, and staff movies. No doubt that the magazine is fun, a little irreverent, and mostly on top of things...but the magazine also is written with the disc in mind. So, please, Amazon, offer a REAL MacAddict subscription.
