Yea Denzel!, 2008-09-10 Hey, I'm a big fan of Denzel's, alright? Anywho, the books are always better than the movies. This one's no difference. I can't really put a finger on Julia's character. She seemed to live in a state of perpetual fear for being killed, which is understandable. Still, there's nothing to grab onto with her. She just seemed flighty and you turned to Denzel to provide some info on what the hell was going on. He's a natural of course. I'm not being biased either. He handles his scenes with Julia wonderfully by not allowing this chick to confuse his role. The plot's not all too bad either considering it's by Grisham. It's weird that politicians would kill folks over pelicans in the swamps, but that's how it goes I guess. It's more original, I'll give it that. It ties together wonderfully.
excellent suspense intrigue film, 2008-09-05 Vey enjoyable mystery. Grabs you from the start. Excellent performances by Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington. Each time you watch it you catch something you missed before. I recommend it highly.
One of the best, 2008-08-22 If you want to be entertained totally, this is the movie to watch. I loved it,

Quality of DVD is extremely poor., 2008-05-24 The quality of this DVD, The Pelican Brief, is very, very poor. The vast majority of the film is so dark that neither the characters nor the scenes can be viewed...the screen is practically pitch black, with no images. I will not be buying anymore DVDs from Amazon, due to the extremely poor quality of this single DVD, which I had so looked forward to receiving.

The Pelican Brief, 2008-04-05 This is a movie full of intrigue and suspense. Denzel Washington turns in one of his best performances as Gray Grantham. Julia Roberts is equally as exciting as Darby Shaw a Tulane law student. Together they work to expose a criminal conspiracy that involves many high officials that include the White House. When attempts are made on their lives, it becomes a race to see if they can solve the case before they forfeit their lives in pursuit of justice.
