I'm looking for a product like this, just not sure this is the one, 2007-01-22 Having been through graduate school collecting copious notes on secondary literature, and collecting stacks and stacks of notes, I've been looking for a product -- and played with several different ones -- that could "collect all my thoughts."
OneNote is the one that comes closest. Now, it affords me the opportunity to collect notes about my customers -- better than a CRM program! -- write down ideas for speeches I want to give or articles I want to write, and help me remember my karate forms.
But, OneNote requires a lot of dedication, especially at the beginning, as you learn the whole tabbed structure for organizing your work.
Finally, I've recently given up on this product, since I can only really work on it on one computer. But, my life now isn't confined to one computer anymore. I'm on several, so, lately, I've opted for using Google Docs, which enables me to work from any location. The organization is messier, but, at least, when an idea hits me, I can get it down immediately.
A great product, but I question the future of products tied to the desktop.
