 RUINED TWO HARD DRIVES WITH THIS THING / FAULTY POWER DELIVERY TO HDD CREATES MECHANICAL ISSUES, 2008-08-11
It is unlikely you will find this review since CompUSA is out of business ( NO SURPRISE for VARIOUS REASONS ) but every drive we plugged into this thing seemed to work but suddenly power hiccups within the first hour caused the disk to power off then back on rapidly and this created issues, the first drive had bad sectors that couldn't be repaired with software tools and eventually the HDD failed.
The 2nd disk just toasted immediately despite the fact it was working just fine inside a notebook until plugged into this adapter.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU HAVE TO RUIN A 2.5" IDE DRIVE with certainty.
