Customer Reviews:
Here I come to save the daaaaaayyyyyy!, 2008-12-22 For less than $15 this game is a steal. Especially since it is on Issue #13 (another way of saying a patch that adds new content). This is also one of the "lower priced" Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG for short) out in the market. I played this when it first cam out several years ago (City of Heroes) and this past summer, I missed it. I also lost my copy, so I bought this version.
Basically, you create a hero and protect the citizens of Paragon City in City of Heroes. In City of Villians, you cause mayhem. Each game has well over 5 zones which target certain levels. The highest level to reach is level 50. You choose from different power pools and sets. They range from mental abilities, electricity, healing and flight. All types of missions are available; from rescuing people to bank missions (robbing or protecting depending on the villain or hero respectively). You can enhance your powers to provide more power, accuracy, and recharge rate. Story arcs are several missions combined within a theme. You can nnow earn medals and merits for completing story arcs.
The graphics aren't bad but for some time, I have been saddened by the cardboard graphics where you see the building just standing there. You can't take a fight inside a building (unless you are doing a mission inside one) and blow out windows or part of the building (remember the fight in Superman II between Christopher Reeve and the 3 villains?)
The people of Paragon wave to you and mention some of your good deeds from time to time. It would be nice to see more villains added and some slight updates to the graphics.
You can lower the price of your monthly subscription by buying several months at a time. Instead of paying monthly, I pay for every 3 months. It's a delightful game which allows you to fight battles by yourself or in a group.
